Paste your current turning insert list. We return a brand-neutral cost audit: cross-brand equivalents at the same ISO application position, where you are likely overpaying, and which swap to trial first. No sign-up, no sales call.
Brand-neutral: no manufacturer pays for placement here. Equivalents come from indexed catalogue data, not sponsorship.
One insert per line. Grade is the only required field, the rest sharpen the audit. New to this? See a fully worked example audit first →
Equivalents are matched by ISO application position and are brand-neutral. Any saving shown is a starting estimate at equal tool life, not a guarantee. Validate the top swap on a sample part before you switch production. We never invent grade codes: if a match is not verifiable, the report says so.
The audit tells you where to look. The money is real only after you measure tool life on one machine. Pro gives you the validation worksheet, unlimited audits, and the grade cross-reference database.
Match the grade to its ISO application position (for example P25 for general steel turning) and look for grades at the same position from other manufacturers. Most steel and stainless grades have a direct counterpart across Sandvik, Kennametal, ISCAR, Mitsubishi, Seco, Korloy, ZCC and others, often at a very different price. The Cost Audit does this cross-reference automatically and brand-neutral.
They are comparable at the same ISO application position, not identical. Coating, substrate and geometry differ between makers, so an equivalent is a strong starting point, not a guaranteed match. Always validate tool life on a sample part before switching production.
Savings come from removing the brand markup on grades that perform the same job, and can run 20 to 40 percent per line where a premium brand is being paid for the logo rather than the performance. The real saving is only confirmed after measuring cost per part, not sticker price, on a validation run.
